Who we are:

We are a group of Adventurous college students, who are (at this point in time) currently finishing our A-Levels, with the majority of us looking to go to University come September/October. We all attend St Pauls Catholic College, Sixth Form in Burgess Hill and have a unique interest in challenging outdoor activities.

What is the challenge:                                                                                                    The National 3 Peaks Challenge is an endurance event, whereby the 3 highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales (Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis and Mount Snowdon respectively) are to be climbed and driven between, within 24 hours. We will be doing the challenge over the 8th/9th July (starting the evening of the 8th and finishing the afternoon of the 9th).

Why we are doing this Challenge:

We are choosing to do the National Three Peak Challenge because we are all highly motivated, enthusiastic walkers, who enjoy a challenge. Having all Participated in The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, we have plenty of experience of long distance walking and hill/mountain climbing. So we would like to test our abilities by participating in this event. Also, due to the approach of our hopeful entries into University, this will be a great opportunity for all of us to partake in something really memorable before we all part ways later in the year.

Why we are raising money for Charity:

We are also choosing to raise funds for St Peters & St James Hospice; this is because we wanted to (as part of our challenge) give something back to our local area. So we choose to raise money for a Local charity, so that way we can see how whatever we raise can help others and benefits the local community. Also members of our team have members of their families who have been affected by progressive illnesses (such as Cancer); and St Peters & St James Hospice provides care for people who have progressive and Life limiting illnesses, and see’s to the needs of those at the hospice aswell as the needs of their families and friends. So we felt that the Charity has a slightly personal link to members of our team.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St Peter and St James Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now!
