The Hope 50 Ride · 30 August 2021 to 3 September 2021 ·

A 475 mile cycle challenge from Salisbury to Land's End and back again, to raise vital funds in aid of Hope and Homes for Children, so that children can live in loving families, never orphanages.

Story

Between 30th August and 3rd September, I will be part of a team of 10 taking on the challenge of cycling 475 miles in 4.5 days to raise £50,000 for Hopes and Homes.  We will set off from Hope and Homes for Children's Head office in East Clyffe, Salisbury, heading to one of the country's most famous cycling destinations, Land's End, then back again. Between us we will cover 8 million metres, one for every child confined to institutional care around the world today. The vast majority of children in orphanages aren't orphans at all: 80% of the 8 million children confined to orphanages have at least one living parent or close relative who could care for them, with the right support. And for children without family, there is always a better option than an orphanage.Hope and Homes for Children works across the world to keep families together, reunite families, and build new families, so every child can grow up in the care and support of a loving family.
