Take a great step forward on the starting line of Great Ormond Street Hospital Childrens Charitys RBC Race for the Kids. A step that will help transform the futures of seriously ill children treated at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Story

We're hoping to take part in the RBC Race for the Kids 5k to raise money for GOSH Charity.

Around 600 seriously ill children arrive at GOSH from across the UK every day and all the funds raised will make a huge difference to the children and families at GOSH. By sponsoring us, you'll be helping to fund state-of-the-art medical technology; pioneering research programmes into treatments and cures for rare conditions; patient, family and staff support services; and the creation of new child-focused environments that help children feel safe and calm during their appointments, treatments and recovery.

As a family we have experienced firsthand the excellent care provided by GOSH - our 1yr old son Daniel was born with a hole-in-the-heart, and underwent open heart surgery in February 2022, when he was 9 months old. After a week on the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at GOSH, he recovered quickly and we are thankful that he is continuing to progress well.

The RBC Race for the Kids run is an event for all ages and abilities, and we plan to complete it as a family, pushing Daniel along too!

Any support you can give will be greatly appreciated, and will help to ensure others benefit from the world-class treatment and care that we did.

Many thanks,

The Kingham family
