I'm fast approaching my 40th year and instead of buying a mazda MX5 or taking up free-running,  I've signed up for twelve races over twelve months. Honest. Laugh all you like but there's no getting out of this one, because part of the reason for doing this challenge is to raise money (£1200 to be precise) for FRANK Water - a brilliant little charity, based in Bristol, that provides safe water and sanitation for some of the 663 million people who still live without it.

For every £10 donated - I'll add an extra £1 too!

FRANK works in India - where so far, they've reached more than 325,000 people with safe, clean drinking water and toilets. They work across the country, from Agra in the North to Telangana in the South West (and in several states in between). Their projects are diverse and depend on multiple factors including how the water is contaminated, where the source is, what the terrain is like etc.  

However, all projects have a common purpose - to provide access to safe, clean drinking water and sanitation (toilets) to groups of people who need it.

The communities that FRANK helps are those living in remote, rural or ‘hard to reach locations.’ Often, they are classified as scheduled tribe or scheduled caste or particularly vulnerable tribal groups. They may not understand their rights – to water, sanitation, land or education – and have lived without state or central government assistance for generations. With its partners, FRANK Water supports communities to claim their rights, to apply for government funding and take ownership of their community, their health and development.
