In lockdown 1 Zane decided to run a marathon over a weekend averaging 9 miles a day to raise money for BCH in memory of Tom and raised an incredible £2000!! Now, he's decided he wants to cycle from Birmingham Children's Hospital to Great Ormond Street along the grand union canal (150 miles). He was 10 when he did his marathon around the local streets. Now 11, I'm not sure he would be allowed to cycle to London unaccompanied. So, he's roped me in as his support......🙈🙈 Zane will start at BCH on Friday 2nd July and all being well, we will catch our train from Marylebone to Stourbridge on Sunday 4th July 🤞

About the charity

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.
