Event: BYUK London to Paris Cycle , on 10 February 2020
We are raising money to support our new cancer and surgery building.

Story

In central London we are currently building a new Proton Beam Therapy Unit and Specialist Blood Cancer Centre, which will open in 2020. It is situated opposite UCLH Tower near Euston, and connected through a ‘corridor of excellence’ to the other hospitals. There are an estimated 80 million people with blood disorders in the Europe. This new centre will be one of Europe’s largest blood cancer centres, and will be a specialist research, training and treatment centre, where novel life-saving treatments such as immunotherapy will be developed with training reaching worldwide. Alongside the specialist care these most vulnerable of patients require. Our cycle from London to Paris is to celebrate the near completion of this major project. The funds raised will go towards enhancing and improving the environment and equipment for patients. Improved healthcare environments have a number of positive therapeutic and medical outcomes for patients including: · Reduction of stress · Reduction of depression and anxiety · Reduced blood pressure · Reduced pain intensity · Reduced need for medication · Improved mental health Please help and be part of this amazing cause and help patients in their cancer recovery.
