Story
My Nans name was Shirley Iris Leigh, and I’m not exaggerating when I say that she was 1 of the greatest woman I will ever have the privilege of knowing….
In my Nans last days at Willen Hospice she was made to feel comfortable and relaxed by an incredible team of nurses and volunteers, which just wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t for the public's generosity.
People also often forget that the Nurses looking after your loved ones are actually real people. They too can spend their days, talking with you, crying with you, making you cups of tea and giving you hugs when it's needed and when the time comes, sharing your grief.
It's easy to look back and think "I should have done that, should have said that, should do more charity work" but not so easy to put 1 foot in front of the other and actually do it, so this year (starting with this Fire Walk) I’ve decided to actually get off my arse and "Do".
Please help me out, one day it could be your Nan, Grandad, Mum, Brother, Sister, Father… that need the support this team gives, (touch wood though, you never do).”
