Story
My brother John was severely physically and mentally handicapped after contracting meningitis at birth in 1979, and started going to the Milton Hospice shortly after it opened in 1989 and it gave our family regular respite relief until he sadly passed away in 1991.
They do an outstanding job and give families desperately needed help and support in a very difficult time when they are dealing with long term disability or a terminal diagnosis.
Why a triathlon? the three disciplines consecutively - 1500m open water swim, 45km bike ride followed by a 10km run - makes it something special to mark the hospice's 25th anniversary and my way of thanking them!
