Story

I am on my way to Mount Kilimanjaro with the aim to raise £5,000 for Somerset Area Cruse Bereavement Care which equates to the cost of the climb and equipment (which I have already funded), so all sponsorship raised will go direct to Somerset Area Cruse Bereavement Care.

The climb will start on 22nd September 2015, climbing 19,341ft, involving a 35 mile climb, 14,000 feet of elevation gain and loss, some scrambling whilst taking five days to reach the summit.

Your donation of £30 will provide six calls for people in their hour of need.

Your donation of £60 will provide crucial information leaflets for 5 people (families) who’ve been bereaved.

Your donation of £81 will provide for a series of 3 bereavement counselling sessions.

Your donation of £162 will provide for a series of 6 bereavement counselling sessions.

I have lost four stone to give myself the best chance of possible of summiting.

Somerset Area Cruse Bereavement Care, based in Street are the leading national charity for bereaved people and offer support, advice and information to children, young people and adults when someone dies and work to enhance society’s care for people who have been bereaved

Most people suffer terribly when someone they love passes away. Many cope without specialist help and support, but wonder why life suddenly feels so very difficult. It was this very practical help where they offer someone who will listen, a trained bereavement support volunteer for people to talk to confidentially, one to one that inspired me to want to raise funds to support them. They offer this help to everyone, including young people and children who really need the support of a specialist.

I am actively promoting this event on social media, blogging each week, have raised a Facebook page and contacted local press. I will promote all those companies who sponsor me by including company logos in this social media activity and I will provide a photo of the charity t-shirt with logos, held at the summit, which you may like to use within your own marketing activities.
