Story

Lee Ye-won has early confirmed the grand prize and prize money of the KLPGA Tour in the 2023 season.

Lee Ye-won finished second in the KLPGA Tour S-Oil Championship, which ended at the Elysian Jeju Country Club (par 72) in Jeju City on the 5th.

The fourth round was originally scheduled to be held on the same day, but the organizing committee decided to cancel the fourth round due to heavy rain in Jeju. As a result, Sung Yu-jin, who was the leader in the third round, became the winner with 12-under 204 strokes, the record until the third round. Lee Ye-won tied for second place with Kim Jae-hee at 11-under 205.

Lee Ye-won was confirmed as the grand prize winner by beating Im Jin-hee (558 points) regardless of her performance in the remaining one tournament, with a total of 651 points added to the grand prize points.

Lee Ye-won also became the top prize winner. Lee Ye-won solidified the top prize money during the tournament as Park Ji-young, the second-place prize winner, withdrew in the second round of the S-Oil Championship. Lee Ye-won, who currently has a season prize of KRW 1,412,184,197, has a wider gap with second-place Park Ji-young (972,479,385 won) than the prize money for the last tournament (115 million won).

Lee ranks first in average pars (70.6404). Kim Soo-ji (70.9103) came in second.

Lee Ye-won said, "It is really dazed that the prize money king and grand prize were decided early."

"Both were awards I really wanted to win, and I'm happy and happy to receive them like this. In particular, the target for this year was a situation where tension could not be relaxed until the end, which honestly bothered me a lot. "The more I did, the better I did every tournament, every round, and every shot, and I think it led to a good result."

Lee Ye-won added, "Thank you to everyone who always believes and supports us, and we will do our best until the end of next week's competition because we still have the final game of the season."
