“You must do the thing you think you cannot do.” - Eleanor Roosevelt
Running a marathon is going to be hard. But it's nothing compared to how hard it is to fight the horrible disease that is cancer, and there are 12,000 young people between the ages of 13 and 25 diagnosed with cancer each year who are fighting as hard as they can to beat it.
It's for this reason that myself and my partner, Steven, are stepping (running?) way outside our comfort zones and joining the Teen Cancer America team in Los Angeles next March, attempting to complete 26.2 miles.
This will be the first marathon for both Steven and me, and we’re thrilled to be doing so as part of the Teen Cancer America team, as a way to help spread awareness and raise vital funds for the organization.
The funds you donate as part of this campaign will go 100% to Teen Cancer America, so please take a moment to read more about them below, and the work they do to support young people with cancer.
Thank you in advance!
About Teen Cancer America
Our mission is to improve the experience, outcomes and survival of teens and young adults with cancer by providing facilities and programs designed especially for them in hospitals throughout the USA.Teen Cancer America helps hospitals and healthcare professionals bridge the gap between pediatric and adult oncology care and aims to educate and support hospitals and outpatient facilities in the development of specialized units for teens and young adults. The units are a place just for teens and young adults where the cancer experience is understood and the importance of living life through the cancer journey is nourished.
