EMF 10K 2026 · 23 May 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

We want the whole world talking about the menopause. At a Menopause Café people gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss menopause. Open to all, in an accessible and confidential space. With no intention of leading people to any conclusion or course of action, and on a not for profit basis.

Story

"I've signed up for the Edinburgh Marathon Festival 10K on 23rd May.

That's a scary thought. I walk. I climb hills. But I don't run, or at least I thought I didn't! However the inspiring Rachel, and founder of Menopause Cafe, decided she was going to run 10K to raise funds for Menopause Cafe and was looking for folk to join her. In a rash of enthusiasm I agreed!

Being able to run 10k seems a long way off! Your encouragement to get out running, especially on dreich, wet Scottish days would be amazing (see photos - at least my companion loves it!). I'm committed to doing this because getting us all talking about and normalising conversation around menopause is really important, not just for women but for men, too. That's exactly what Menopause Cafe is about.

Menopause Cafe works to reduce the ignorance and shame which, sadly, still surround menopause. The charity supports pop-up menopause discussion groups worldwide: in workplace and in the community, hosted for free, online or in person.

It costs £20,000 a year to keep Menopause Cafe charity going. I'd like to raise £1,500, hopefully more with your generosity. Our Menopause on the Move Team is hoping to raise £6,000.

Please support me as I run this 10K. Why not come and cheer our Team on or, even better, join us in running and raising funds?!
