Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Most of you will know that my daughter Olivia has been treated at gosh for a brain tumour for the last 6 years. She has had 5 different chemotherapies, all failed, had 2 brain surgeries, blood and platelet transfusions, a feeding tube, endless mri scans and ophthalmology appointments. She was on a medical trial for 756 days which almost made her tumour disappear. Unfortunately we have recently found out that in the 3 months we didn’t take these meds her tumour regrow back to its original size so we have had to go back on the meds for another 2 years. The long term side effects are unknown and it appears Livvy may now spend her whole childhood fighting this tumour!

Last year we found out Olivia has several hormone issues due to her pituitary gland being damaged when her tumour was growing. She takes daily tablets and a hormone injection every night to help these problems.

Last year I heard that gosh are raising money for a special mri scanner which will be in the operating theatre meaning surgeons like Livvys brain surgeon can operate and scan simultaneously. This will save children needing more general anaesthetics and would have been beneficial to Olivia. If I reach my target of £5000 and add this to my previous fundraising totals we will have raised enough towards the scanner and Olivias name will be forever seen on a plaque outside the operating theatre in gosh.

This hospital is truly amazing and makes me feel so proud to live in such a wonderful country with such first class medical care.

Every £5 really does count . Thank you ❤️
