South Coast Ultra Challenge 2023 · 2 September 2023 to 3 September 2023 ·

Every 5 minutes, stroke destroys lives. You can help rebuild them by joining Team Stroke in taking on the South Coast Challenge on 2/3 September 2023!

Story

The Stroke Association is held very close to my heart.  Five and a half years ago my Father in Law suffered a Stroke, he was very active and a keen tennis player and coach, although he has recovered he still struggles with lasting symptoms.

Out of the blue last year at the age of 38 my youngest Sister also suffered a Stroke.  At the time it affected her eyesight and balance, which is now back to how it was before. Although upon investigation it was found my Sister had a problem with her heart, which she has lived with all of her life until that day when the Stroke happened. Thankfully my Sister, Amelia has had heart surgery and is now on the road to a full recovery! If I could have given one thing to my Sister it would have been to take away from her those days when Stroke impacted her!!

I’m raising awareness and money to show my thanks to Stroke Association for the research, care and support that was given.

Every step I take, I take for my Sister, Father in Law and for everyone who has suffered a Stroke.

When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives.
