Story
Across The Body Shop at Home we are setting a target to raise £400,000 this year for Children on the Edge; to bring hope, life, colour and fun to children living on the edge of society. Children on the Edge was sparked into life by Dame Anita Roddick over 30 years ago. Not long after this The Body Shop At Home began to support them. Over the last 4 years, this partnership has had great success in supporting the transformation of communities in Jinja, Uganda. This dedication is now growing further, to help some of the most shunned and marginalised children in India. With the right support to access education and develop community activism, Dalit children can realise their rights, grow in self worth and begin to break the cycle of discrimination.
12,000 steps for 12,000 refugee children
Children on the Edge exists to help over 15,000 marginalised and forgotten children, who are living on the edge of their societies. 12,000 of these are refugees, often living in cramped camps and settlements with no access to education or support.
I'm walking 12,000 steps...(add detail, e.g. every day for a month) to bring hope, life, colour and fun to 12,000 slum community and refugee children.
These are children without parental care, neglected or persecuted by their governments, ignored by international media and missed by large overseas agencies. COTE now provide safe, child-friendly spaces to help to restore the ingredients of a full childhood.
