I won a London Marathon entry this year through the Mickleover Running club ballot and have chosen to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

My personal reasons for this is a long standing agreement with my mum to donate money to Cancer Research UK. I ran the London Marathon for Arthritis UK following her death in 2015 and decided that i would do the next one for Cancer Research. Luckily i got in with Mickleover Running Club.

I have no personal experience of cancer or of losing someone through cancer. However i'm looking at this as paying forwards in the hope i can raise money to help prevent cancer for myself and others. 

Cancer Research UK is the world’s largest charity dedicated to saving lives through research.

Their vision is to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
