Story
Save the Children exists to help every child reach their full potential. In the UK and around the world, we make sure children stay safe, healthy and keep learning, so they can become who they want to be.
Wessex Walks were the first sponsored walks and started in 1966 walking between the 3 cathedrals, Wells, Salisbury and Winchester. The annual event finished after 50 years and over £3 million raised. Many of the 100 Wessex Walkers were involved and now support Save the Children with an annual donation and use local busses to explore the countryside around Salisbury, Wilton and Amesbury.
