We are there when it matters to support people through dying or grief.

Story

On Saturday 13th June 2020, Western Union Business Solutions Peterborough will be taking part (..and hopefully winning!!) the 22nd Peterborough Dragon Boat Festival at Peterborough Rowing
Club. More than 40 teams are expected to compete over the 200m race course, watched by several thousand spectators.

This is all in aid of Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice, an amazing local charity.

When someone is dealing with a terminal illness or the loss of a loved one, Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice is there when it matters, supporting them through the most difficult times of their lives.

As well as its specialist 20-bed inpatient unit, the hospice gives care in
people’s own homes through its hospice at home team and supports people living with long-term conditions through its day services.

The hospice looks after the whole family, offering emotional, spiritual and practical care and bereavement support through its family support team too. All this is provided free of charge but it costs £9,000 a day to run – and the majority needs to be fundraised.

“At the hospice, I was able to become Mum’s daughter again instead of her carer –and grant her final wish,” shares Emma Rayner. “Mum’s last days were spent in a beautiful place where she was cared for so expertly, gently, and lovingly.”

Please support us in raising as much as we can for this fantastic cause!
