Herts Half Marathon · 24 November 2019 ·

We support individuals, families, and groups with complex health and social care needs, often due to disability, dementia, autism or mental ill health. The support we and our dogs provide enables them to better access the world around them.

Story

We will be running the Herts Half marathon (first long distance run for either of us)  to raise money for dogs for good after a fair bit of thought. To us it’s clear that the positive impact that dogs can have on mental and physical well being is something that is incredibly important, and one thing we both hold close to our hearts. This amazing charity helps dogs help people with a wide range of needs. Dogs complete selfless acts of kindness every day and the good they can do for people in almost any circumstance is invaluable. Please read below for more information.

Dogs for Good believes in the power of dogs. Since 1988, Dogs for Good has been making life-changing differences for people with disabilities. The charity supports people with complex needs including physical disabilities, autism, dementia and learning disabilities enabling them to lead more independent lives through the help of trained dogs. They receive over 5,000 enquiries a year and it costs more than £22,000 to train and support each assistance dog. With your sponsorship, they can create more life-changing partnerships. Thank you.
