Story
We'd like to invite you to donate to our 9th Memory Walk - we’re doing it again to keep on fundraising in the hope that we can move towards a world without dementia.
We’re walking for the Alzheimer's Society, we started in 2016 when my Dad (Adam's Grandpa) was about to head into residential care. It's also the fifth one we'll be doing in his memory as we lost him in November 2019.
We’re also caring for Ceri’s dad, who was diagnosed with dementia in 2022.
So far, thanks to your generosity, we've raised almost £12,000, before the GiftAid top ups.
Being completely transparent, it’s not the most strenuous walk as Adam isn't allowed to do the longer ones yet, so we'd love any fivers and/or tenners you can spare.
But the charity does need support so we'd be really grateful for anything larger that you're able to donate. Thank you!
(If you are able to donate then please try to leave an email address so we can thank you, even if the public donation is anonymous. And remember Gift Aid if you're a UK taxpayer please)
Dementia is the UKs biggest killer. Someone develops it every three minutes and currently there is no cure. We know it is scary but we must confront the biggest health & social care challenge of our time. We owe it to the 900,000 people across the UK currently living with dementia to campaign for change, whilst providing vital day-to-day support. By taking part and raising money, or donating to someone who is, you are helping to do this. Once you donate, JustGiving sends your money directly to Alzheimer's Society you don’t need to do anything else!
