Story

Women On the Move Against Cancer (WOMAC) is administered by the Essex Community Foundation.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page and for your kind donation. We are very grateful for your support. WOMAC is made up of volunteers from the automotive industry who donate money every year to cancer charities. For more details please visit www.womac.co.uk.

WOMAC has chosen to support two charities in 2023 – Maggie's and the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.

Maggie’s is a charity providing free cancer support and information at centres across the UK as well as online. The aim is to help people take back control when cancer turns life upside down, and the team offers professional support for anything from treatment side effects to money worries. With a WOMAC donation, Maggie’s intend to offer access to a benefits advisor to help patients with financial support, a cancer support specialist plus sessions with psychologists.

The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation is the only UK lung cancer charity dedicated to helping everyone affected by the disease. Founded in 1990, the charity has funded millions of pounds of essential lung cancer research, looking for ways to detect the disease as early as possible to save lives. In addition, it supports everyone affected by lung cancer from diagnosis through treatment, living with the disease and end of life care. A donation from WOMAC will fund patient grants, support groups and research projects.
