Every year since 2011, my family and I have completed the Moonlight  Walk with Action Cancer in memory of our wonderful mother/ grandmother, Alice Hunter, who sadly passed away from breast cancer on 20th June 2010. Sadly this year, we lost our father/ grandfather William "Billy" Hunter to bowel cancer on 7th May 2021 and so, from this year, we will walk in honor of them both,  becoming Team Alice & Billy. 

Action Cancer is a charity that lies close to our hearts, providing support for many throughout Northern Ireland. They work to support local people through cancer awareness, prevention and detection. In particular, they provide digital breast screening services, support & therapeutic services for cancer patients, MOT health checks and health promotion programmes.

Action Cancer is the only charity in the UK and Ireland to offer breast screening to women aged 40-49 and 70+ who fall outside the NHS range (50-70). The aim is that each person taking part should try to raise at least £120 which covers the cost of one mammogram.
