Treehouse Nursery are hosting a charity night in order to raise awareness of NF1. NF1 is properly known as Neurofibromatosis. This is the name given to a set of genetic disorders that cause tumours to grow along various types of nerves and can affect development of bones and skin. Neurofibromatosis can cause tumours to grow anywhere in or on the body.Neurofibromatosis 1 (Nf1): occurs in around 1:300 births, it is characterized by multiple cafe-au-lait spots and neurofibromas on or under the skin. Enlargement and deformation of bones and curvature of the spine (scoliosis) may also occur. Occasionally, tumours may develop in the brain, on cranial nerves, or on the spinal cord. About 50% of people with NF1 also have learning disabilities.
This is a cause close to everyone at Treehouse as one of our dearest friends recently received the news that her daughter has NF1. Eilidh has always been part of the treehouse family and we have all know her from the day she was born and watched her grow into the beautiful, brave and courageous little girl she is today. Through this whole experience she has shown everyone around her the meaning of strength and courage and endures all this with a smile on her face. She is truly an inspiration as are all children diagnosed with this illness.
We have decided to raise money Funny Lumps as they support children with Neurofibromatosis and their families living in Scotland helping them to cope and supporting them throught .So please donate .... every penny counts :)
