Story
One and a half marathons!
Did it!!
Despite a knee injury, on Saturday 4th July, I managed to complete the Barra half marathon in 2 hours and 13 minutes. Very pleased to have completed the double - huge thanks to all my sponsors and supporters!
I have exceeded my target, so thank you all so much!
One down, half to go!
On Sunday 31st May, in very hot weather, I managed to complete the Edinburgh Marathon in 5 hours and 3 minutes. The sunburn, sore legs and blisters are worth the feeling of achievement! You still have time to sponsor me though, as the Barra half marathon is 5 weeks away... I'll get back into training once the feet stop hurting!
A huge thank you to everyone who has sponsored me already and helped me reach my target, I'm very grateful and extremely chuffed to have done it.
Continuing my trend of doing one really daft thing a year, this year I am attempting to run a marathon and a half in aid of Bowel Cancer UK. The first is the Edinburgh marathon, only a few weeks away! The second is the Barrathon on the beautiful isle of Barra in the Outer Hebrides at the beginning of July and should be considerably easier!
Training hasn't been a breeze, with injury following illness for lots of the time, but I'm still determined to finish - I have no illusions about breaking any records! Having said that, I would love to beat last year's time of 2 hours 5 mins for the Barrathon, fingers crossed.
I would also love to beat last years fundraising total, so please help and support Bowel Cancer UK in their work - reducing the impact of a cancer that affects old and young alike.
