Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We are a team of 4 people who have volunteered to go to Kenya to participate in building a Sand Dam.

Sand Dams are the world’s cheapest method of capturing rainwater.  This simple, brilliant innovative technology provides a lifetime supply of clean water close to people’s homes.

Sand Dams store up to 20 million litres of water and provide a year-round supply for up to 1,000 people – with virtually zero operation and maintenance costs.  Sand Dams store water under sand, protecting it from contamination and evaporation – cleaner water that lasts longer.

The cost to build one is £10,000.

Wendy Ansell, Carol Hampson, Michael Maguire and Kathryn Martin are self funding from their own pockets to go to Africa and give up their own time for 7 days to help build one in September this year.
