Hello all,
So Denise, Beth and I, in a moment of madness, decided to sign up to the Action Challenge walk/run/crawl from London to Brighton on the 23rd and 24th of May this year. It's 100km so it'll be an intense couple of days and I shall likely be feeling the repercussion for many weeks thereafter!
I am raising money for the Oesophageal Patients Association which aims to raise awareness of and support people with oesophageal cancer. It's a cause close to my heart and in memory of my Mother and best friend, Jean, who passed away from this disease in 2013.
They really help with things like supporting sufferers and their families, managing diet throughout the disease and after treatment and getting them in contact with others who have gone through the illness for advice and help. They also raise the profile of the disease so others can hopefully pick up symptoms sooner and respond faster.
I hope you'll be able to support me too through words of encouragement (which I assure you I shall need!) and if possible through donations. I shall keep you up to date with fundraising, training and our progress over the weekend and OPA will be doing the same through their Facebook page.
Thanks guys!
Glen
