17.09.09 Update:
2 days to go to my first Marathon. Training is over - I ran 22 miles a couple of weeks ago and removed most of the skin from my right heel, so I hope compeed blister plasters will hold on tight. Wish me luck!
Blurb:
About 3 years ago I was worrying about completing the nike runlondon 10k. I did it and and it was easier than i thought so I did a few more 10ks. Then i signed up for a half marathon and worried about that for a while, I managed it so then I did 2 more. The last one was at the beginning of April this year and I have done very little running since then. So before i get back to my fighting weight of 17 stone (108 kg = 238 lbs = 17 stone 0 lbs) its time to do it properly and do a full Marathon. I have entered the Berlin Marathon and will be raising cash for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust http://www.cftrust.org.uk/ whose objectives are to:
- Fund medical and scientific research to develop a cure and provide effective treatments for Cystic Fibrosis.
- Ensure appropriate clinical care for those with Cystic Fibrosis.
- Provide information, advice, support and, where appropriate, financial assistance to anyone affected by Cystic Fibrosis.
I am signing up for this quite late so i hope that by sending this on to you all you will make it impossible for me to shirk my training duties over the next few months by donating a few quid.
I must also thank Lufthansa UK for donating my flights to Berlin for me to take part.
many thanks,
Geoff
