Story
The Road to Rajasthan
When I took part in a charity fundraiser football match just over a year ago, my exploding lungs, creaking joints and aching limbs showed me just how unfit I'd become from a sedentary lifestyle over the last ten years. Even now, the scars I picked up on my knees during the game remind me of how unfit I'd let myelf become.
As frustrating and humiliating as the final moments of the game were as I rapidly reached break-down, they did prove to be something of a turning point as I resolved right
there and then to do something about my fitness. Or rather my lack of it. As soon as my knees
had grown new skin, I bought myself a bike.
With a bit more fitness under the belt now, I’ve agreed to take part in a charity cycle ride across the Rajasthan region of to raise funds for the Dreams Come True Charity - an amazing organisation focused on lifting the spirits of seriously and terminally ill children in the by treating them to ‘once in a lifetime’ dream experiences. My ambition is to raise £2,500 for this incredible charity but anything you can donate by way of sponsorship will help make a major impression on a young child’s life.
During the challenge, I’ll be cycling more than 400 kilometres over
5 days - that's London to Newcastle as the crow flies - on and off road, over mountainous terrain and across desert with daily
temperatures up in the high 90s.
I will greatly appreciate any support you are able to give.
Thank you!
Graeme
