Friday Oct 3rd was the night and the forecast was correct - it was really
'cold'!
My sleeping bag (frequently used by my kids friends staying over so it did smell the part), my thermals (usually reserved for the times I lay in the snow in the Alps), my 'Byte Night' fleece (kindly donated by Dell last year), and my Wee Willie Winkie hat were, as Jenny Agutter predicted with some concern on the night,
not up to the job. No change there then!
On the plus side, my sleeping partners from Banner were spared much, if not all, of my snoring as I was up drinking coffee with JP at 5am.
This was a great event which raised a huge amount last year to support homeless kids on the street.
If, like me, you are concerned that cash given to these people on the streets may go straight to the off license or drug dealer then this is a great way to help disadvantaged kids with real practical help.
No matter how hard we have all worked to enjoy our privileged lifestyles I don't think that many off us would deny that luck played a part - usually being in
the right place at the right time. These kids, often through no fault of their own, are in
the wrong place at the wrong time and they desperately need a bit of
'luck'.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: NCH, the children's charity gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me
now and give a little
'luck' back!
Many thanks to all those who have sponsored me so far -
It's not too late to add to the list and help me get closer to my target!
