Like many over the hill athletes before me, I’m dusting off the Vaseline and making an ill-advised comeback to marathon running and this one by far will be the toughest. The Marathon du Medoc is billed as the World’s Slowest Marathon, or “The most painful run you’ll never remember.”.  The lack of speed is probably due to the 22 wine tasting stops dotted along a 26.2 mile route through the vineyards of .  I am raising money equally for American and British Heart charities, whose research enabled two people very close to me not only to survive, but also to fully recover from recent heart attacks.   The red wine will help my heart, but your donations will help millions of other hearts worldwide, please give generously!
