Story
Hi
Thank you for visiting this page.
I created this space initially to appeal for my own friends and contacts’ support for the tens of thousands of families who lost their loved ones in the recent earthquake in Sichuan, China.
In the meantime, I was also involved in a fund raising event at office for both China and Burma, with support from from EY's Far East Network and the China Business Service Group. We thought why don’t we create a website for this on Justgiving to get some extra momentum? Now, you got to know that one of EY’s philosophy is never reinvent the wheel where you don’t have to….my website is now, therefore, also dedicated to the victims of the
cyclone.
On Sunday, 15 June 2008, I will be joining a team of 16 EY staff from 4 offices in the to take part in the Chester Dragon Boat Racing Festival. We will be racing, on behalf of British Red Cross, against 30 other teams from across the country. Our aim is to raise fund for the victims of the recent earthquake in Sichuan, China and of the Cyclone Nargis disaster in Burma. As the team captain, I took the liberty to have named our team EYLEADS. My colleagues would probably be laughing at me now as they know what this name means for an EYer.
Please do check out the official Chester Dragon Boat Race Festival website. (http://www.chesterdragonboatfestival.co.uk/) You are more than welcome to come to cheer us along. Otherwise, we would appreciate your donation as your kind gesture, however small, will make a difference to someone’s life. With millions of good hearted people like yourselves on this planet, together we can better off the luck of the survivors of these disasters, and their families.
Now, the video is a little out of date as the casualty numbers for the two countries have since gone up exponentially. So there is much need for help and please support us and the BRC to help the victims.
In thanking you for your well wishes, we will be battling for pride on 15 June 2008, and some of us will be driving over 200 miles from London.
We will certainly post a team photo next week to let you know how we got on.
Thank you
Captain Guang and Team EYLEADS
P.S. BRC has confirmed that all donations can be split between the two countries.
