Story
So we're walking the length of Hadrian's Wall for Help for Heroes.
Yes, Oli Duffy, Joe Finney, Louis Morris and myself are actually bringing this crazy idea to life. Four friends, walking 84 miles, so I've been told. And we're doing it in five days (18th-22nd July). And I don't think I've ever done anything quite like it before.
We all agreed that Help for Heroes should be the charity we'd raise money for; it just seemed obvious. While Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day remind us of our fallen every November, it's all too easy to forget all the brave men and women who come back scarred by the toil of warfare. This is where Help for Heroes come in: they provide support for our wounded long after they return from the battlefield, a cause we fully support.
Here are a couple more summaries of why we're doing this:
Oli Duffy: "a) Raise money for one of the best causes around. b) A great opportunity to see the entirety of a world heritage (is it?) site. c) Spend time with friends. d) Make even more of a fool of myself than usual in Roman headgear. e) Good for fitness."
Louis Morris: "I'm walking the wall to do my bit for a good cause, indulge my historical nerdiness and to make a fool of myself in a plastic roman helmet."
So, from the four of us, thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
You're totally awesome.
