Fundraising for Have a Heart
Story
HEART’S DANCE DAY RAISING FUNDS FOR SERIOUSLY ILL CHILDREN IN GLOUCESTERSHIRE
Disco, Salsa, Jive … all kinds of dance moves that will be on show at Heart’s Dance Day at The Mall in Gloucester this Friday 12th March.
Presenters and staff including the Heart Angels from Gloucestershire radio station Heart 102.4 and retailers in The Mall will be dancing from 9am to 5pm and encouraging others to join in, including local dance groups, staff from local stores and the public.
They’re strutting their stuff to raise funds for the radio stations ‘Have a Heart Appeal’, which is supporting the work of Starlight. Providing year-round entertainment for children in hospital wards across the UK including here in Gloucestershire, Starlight make a stay in hospital that little less daunting and also bring the dreams of seriously ill children alive by providing wishes, such as meeting a favourite pop star or training with a sporting hero.
The ‘Have a Heart Appeal’ hopes to raise enough money to pay for Starlight Fun Centres in every region broadcast to by Heart, including here in Gloucestershire, and to fund some magical wishes to improve the lives of sick children.
Throughout the day on Friday 12th March dancers will be competing on XBOX Dance Games, learning the Heart Angels dance routine and taking part in sessions run by local dance groups including Salsa Squad and Jive and Swing. Local businesses are also choreographing their own routines to perform and are all are being sponsored for their efforts (which you can do right here!)
