Marathon Over Mountains
Hello and thanks for visiting our fundraising page!
Eleven of us from PwC are preparing to leave our laptops behind and take to the hills for The Three Peaks Challenge in aid of Help for Heroes. We're hoping that you'll lend us all the support you can.
For those that don't know, The Three Peaks Challenge is no mean feat, especially for a motley crew of accountants, who spend slightly too much time driving a desk and not enough in the gym. The aim is to get up and down the highest peak in each of Scotland, England and Wales - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon - in 24 hours. That makes for 26 miles of hiking and jogging - it's basically a marathon over mountains - and there are 475 miles of driving thrown in for good measure!
Our chosen charity, Help for Heroes, aims to do something practical to help the servicemen and women injured in the current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Currently it is raising money to provide much needed rehabilitation facilities. The organisation is non-political and does not wish to comment on the rights and wrongs of any particular conflict. It simply aims to help the very special people who volunteer to serve their country and are wounded in the process. Needless to say, we think it's a very worthy cause. We hope you'll agree and sponsor us today.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Help for Heroes will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
