Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

We (Dan, Andy and Mal) completed our challenge and arrived at Land's End on the 28th July. To find out more about our 1004 mile cycle please keep reading or alternatively visit www.helpingnye.blogspot.com to see our online account of the journey.

So what are we doing to earn your sponsorship?

This summer we (Dan, Andy and Mal) will attempt to cycle from John O' Groats, in North-Eastern Scotland to Land's End; the most South-Westerly point on mainland Britain. The journey is over a thousand miles long and will see us pass through twenty one counties in England, Wales and Scotland. Our aim is to cover 70 miles/ day, which will enable us to complete the ride in no less than two weeks.

And where will your donations go? Our ride has been organised to raise funds for a life-changing project. My (Dan's) nephew has a diagnosis of Autism and - failing to make progress through the support of statutory services - has begun a home-programme to maximise his potential in life. Using an approach called 'Applied Behavioural Analysis' we are enabling Nye to communicate and make sense of the world around him. Addressing the specific deficits in autism we are effectively teaching Nye to learn how to learn (giving him those skills that neurotypical children naturally make use of all day everyday).

We are in the process of establishing The Aneurin Milton Trust  - a charity to support the education of Nye and other children on the autistic spectrum. In the meantime however, we have formed a joint-fundraising agreement with local charity The Scrine Foundation who will channel donations directly to the aforementioned programme as a part of their work supporting individuals in need. In this way we are also able to add an extra 28% in tax to your gift at no cost to you through charity Gift Aid for UK taxpayers. Please click on the icon below to make your donation.

So please sponsor us now!

Whether you have sponsored us or not you can follow Dan, Andy and Mal's adventure with our online diary. Just visit www.helpingnye.blogspot.com . Please be advised that the vast majority of this page was created in a rushed, tired environment and some of the text and images on this page may be taken as offensive (especially to women).

Many thanks for your support.
