We provide family-based care for children to ensure every child has a loving family

Story

As many of you already know I set off from America on my challenge to row the North Atlantic on Friday 27th May and I am hoping to reach England in a record time of 62 days.

I am enduring the journey in a 23.4 ft Atlantic Challenge class Rowing boat which is 6.3 ft wide and I set out with the following objectives:

To set a World Record as the youngest to row the Atlantic West to East.

Be the first person to reach the British Mainland by rowing boat

Beat the existing West East Atlantic Record of 62 days Raise over £60,000 for Hope and Homes for Children It is an enormous challenge and one that I have been determined to attempt and complete since leaving school. Thank you so much for all of your sponsorship and support and to view my website go to www.virginrow.com where you can follow my route and read the dispatches i send out. Olly Hicks.

Orphanages do not protect children. They harm them. We are working towards a day when every child can grow up in a loving family. There are millions of children across the world confined to loveless orphanages. Over 80% of them are not orphans. It doesn’t have to be this way.
