Story
What – walk 100km in under 30 hours non stop. That’s 62.5 miles, or 2 ½ marathons, with no time for sleep… Walking across the treacherous and undulating terrain of the South Downs from Southampton to Brighton in the sweltering heat of mid July (and no doubt rain). Pushing our bodies to the limit of human endurance through sleep deprivation and physical exertion.
Why - To make as much money as possible for Gurkha Welfare Trust and Oxfam.
The Group
Ruth - Shopping addict and general non walker.
Dan - Better known as one of the fellowship and walking to Mordor.
Kate - Her long legs once covered Buckinghamshire in 5 strides.
Sue - A veteran of the London Marathon scene, most likely to sleepwalk.
Dave - Walked home from The Red Lion once, spent 2 hours asleep in a bush.
Rob - Lungs of a 15 year old, knees of a 50 year old.
Alastair - Old head of group, probably walked the furthest in his life.
Jamie - Better at dancing than walking.
(Hopefully we'll all be able to walk more comfortably thanks to the generosity of Berghaus)
Rob & Vicky (Support Crew) - providers of tea, food, clothes and a LOT of motivational speeches!
