Who we are

Heriot-Watt University: Colleagues who Craft is a group that started during the lockdown. At first, there were 3 of us, now there are 65 covering all 5 Heriot-Watt campuses and we have both staff and student members.

As a group, we come together as a community of makers to share our ideas and craft projects and connect every few weeks for a chat and a blether.

Our Aim
We wanted to do something as a group to support our student community during this difficult time. The CV19 pandemic has affected everyone in such a wide variety of ways.

We had the idea of running a raffle to raise money to support those in our student community who might need a bit more help during this time, such as adapting to the different challenges of remote learning.

We have no idea how much we might raise, but we wanted to be a wee bit ambitious, so our fundraising goals are as follows

  1. Up to £500
Prize(s) for a student to support the purchase of essential IT equipment up to £500

  2. Up to £2000
Multiple prizes for a student to support the purchase of essential IT equipment up to £500 (or remaining budget)

  3. Over £2000
    Funding a student bursary
Any funds above that, but not enough for another bursary would be used for individual prizes as above.

This is being done in partnership with the Alumni and Development team at Heriot-Watt who will receive and manage these funds.
