On Saturday 4th October my children will be taking part in the Junior Great North run in the great city of Newcastle, Billy (10),Danny (8) and Thalia (5). On the Sunday I will attempt to roll back the years and defy age and complete the half marathon.

Last year I managed to complete the course in 1:40:58,despite ageing 10 years in the process, this year I am determind to better it. This is a televised event so if you tune in you may get great enjoyment catching a glimpse of me struggle round the 13 mile course, I am sure many of you will take great pleasure from the level of suffering I might endure.

As everyone knows Great Ormond Street is a fantastic institution dedicated to the well being of children, if any of you have ever come into contact with it you would hopefully have benefited from a level of treatment second to none in the care of children. At present it is looking to enhance its facilites and every penny counts which is why I would ask for you to give for this charity.
