Story
In April, I will be taking on the challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon just over 8 months postpartum. Whilst I doubt that I'll be going for a PB, it was important for me to "give something back" to ECHO (Evelina Children's Heart Organisation).
At our 12 week scan, we were told that there was an abnormality with our baby's heart. After additional tests and scans, a double aortic arch was diagnosed. The next 6 months were filled with anxiety, more scans and MRIs. We received lots of support from ECHO and their FB group was invaluable in making us realise that we're not alone.
On 25 July 2023, Zack was born happy and healthy. He avoided NICU and we were able to take him home the next day! Thankfully, Zack's heart condition is not considered serious, and although he may need surgery, his life won't be impacted. I'm running for ECHO so they can continue supporting children and young people with heart conditions and their families.
Thank you so much in advance for donating whatever you can, it really will make a massive difference.
