So I'm off for another Focus Challenge......

Following my Hike's in the Sahyadri Mountain Range in in 2005, then Madagascar in 2006 and Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro last year,  I am now taking on the latest Focus challenge to Cycle in from Mumbai to Goa.

I remember doing the London to Brighton Cycle in June 2005 where towards the end of the race I had major cramps in my legs to the point I couldn't even sit, walk or even stand still - I just had to weather the pain, stretch and wait until it went away. That was approx 55 miles, the challenge is 550 km ( 342 miles) over 6 days, so its about the same distance every day for six days!!!! AND we all know that the roads in are not as good as in to say the least!! Overall its going to be tough.

The funds raised will go to Focus Humanitarian Assistance. known to many as providers of Humanitarian Assistance to victims of  natural and man-made disasters. Focus has played an active part in preparation, response and prevention of disasters over the years. Some of these disasters are listed below:-

What focus does SAVES LIVES and because the rate of natural disasters has dramatically increased over the years, more lives are at risk and more work is needed to prepare, respond and prevent such disasters.

I personally have volunteered to be trained to be an Urban Search and Rescue Technician for Focus and am undergoing an 18 month training program (into my 17th now!). The main reason for this is that I want to be able to save lives. However, it is not going to be possible without your help. Without the sponsors Focus cannot do their work effectively.
