I did it!!!  

On the 18th of March, I completed the Inca Trail over 5 days to help Have a Heart continue in their mission to improve the lives of disadvantaged children in our local community.

It was REALLY tough sometimes but as a team; we did it. The altitude affected all of us and made it hard to walk. 2 people shared a tent at night and we got up at 5am each morning to walk between 8 to 10 hours each day. In the morning, it rained for a few hours as we went up and up and up and in the afternoon the sun would come out as we went down and down and down! It was hard physically and there were times when I wished I could have stopped but the team spirit and the purpose of the walk meant we all got there at the end of the day. As a team (there were 32 of us) we raised in excess of £60,000 and I am really proud of that! Thank you so much for your support. I hope I did you proud too ☺

In 2011, Have a Heart are supporting Children's Hospices UK by raising funds to help 28 hospices further the care they deliver to seriously ill children in their own home.

The aim is to provide each children’s hospice with a car and a nurse to deliver care and support when and where it is needed most.  With your support we can help ordinary families in extraordinary circumstances to cope with the challenges of everyday life.
