Story
London Marathon 26th April 2009
Hello and welcome!
Only one more day to go! Thanks everyone for your sponsorship - you have beaten that magic £1000. I wonder how much higher we can go!!
The hard graft of training is now done - I've worked my way through arthritic toes, pulled calf muscles and shin splints to come out the other end very excited and raring to go! This week the training eases right back to gain energy and I load myself with carbohydrates for the big day!
I am fund raising for Cornwall Hospice Care - the charity that provided such superb care for Dad In the last weeks of his life. The timing of the marathon is very fitting - three years to the day from Dad's memorial service. My original aim was to raise £250, then following a fantastic response that went up first to £500 then £750. The big goal of £1000 is now in sight - or can you guys even smash that?
Whatever you can give it will both speed me around the route and act as a wonderful memorial to Dad. It is fantastic too reading all of your comments on line!
Look out for me on the day - I'll be wearing a violently florescent green top (!!) and a big number 25579!! You can track my run on the internet if you fancy - just go to www.adidas.com/running and put in number 25579.
