We Raise funds for skin disease research to help millions of sufferers in the UK

Story

Having never run a marathon before I have opted to take on the Brighton and London Marathon double, just two weeks’ recovery between the two.

The reason I have chosen British Skin Foundation's appeal ‘It Takes Seven’, is because my Mum has in the past been diagnosed with skin cancer (malignant melanomas) and undergone major surgery.

Thanks to the medical staff and the knowledge they have, my Mum has fought through this and is currently clear but under close observation.

I would like to raise money to bring attention to the ‘It Takes Seven’ appeal.

The Facts:

* 7 people die from skin cancer every day in the UK
* Over 100,000 new cases of all skin cancer diagnosed in the UK each year
* Rates of malignant melanoma are rising faster than any other type of common cancer
