Story
If anyone find's my marbles can they please return them to me before 26th April?
My marathon run/torture is dedicated to HAPPY memories of three special people who enriched my life. My lovely sister/friend/teacher Jan 1953 - 2008 who was so full of love and life (I miss you Jan). To her partner Bob 1955 - 2004 who used to, and still does, make us laugh when we remember his silly antics at parties, on holidays and at family gatherings. To Dad, it may be 28 years since you left us but we have great memories of you.
To say that I am bursting with excitement and pride (and trepidation) at the prospect of running in the 29th London Marathon is a complete understatement (as the people around me will testify. Sorry if I'm driving you mad). The London Marathon is something that I have wanted to complete since I watched the first televised event in 1981 at the tender age of 22 (so you can work that one out for yourselves). I know that I have left it a long time to apply, but hey, I finally think I'm fit enough.
I particularly wanted to raise money for a cancer charity and was lucky enough to recieve one of the last Golden Bond places with Macmillan Cancer Support. I want to make what will amount to a very small contribution towards the support of people living with and after cancer (and their families too). Please dig deep and help me to meet and exceed my target.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart (or the heart of my bottom if you'd prefer) for taking time to visit my web page. Lesley xxx
