Story
Well this is it .....my fundraising page !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I apologise for the event date at top of page it should be 12th Sept-20 Sept 2009, they only had April date listed.
I am so happy and pleased to be able to help raise money for people that have Retinitis Pigmentosa an eye disease that can result in blindness.
I am also so proud of my group and all the members of the Retinitis Pigmentosa Support Group on facebook .
and a very special member Margaret Challoner if it was not her i would not be partaking in the China Trek and this fundraising page would not be here.
My China Wall Trek will start September 12th in Jinshanling with a vigorous trek that loops along the mountains either side of theGubeikou Gateway.
Each day i will trek approximately 12kms along the stony path, twisting and winding its way along the mountains.
It is demanding but also very rewarding!!
On completion of my challenge September 20th i will return to Beijing
Ever since 2001 i have taken on a challenge each year for a charity, this is because i was diagnosed with an inactive brain tumour in 1996 and my challenges keep me strong and positive.
I have raised over £20,000 for charities by taking part in a London Triathlon, London Marathon, New York Marathon, Rajasthan Tiger Challenge(480 kilometre mountain bike ride in a remote part of India), Great Bupa North Run, Race for Life and i organised a fun run for Cancer Research that raised £13,000 in the two years i organised it and is now part of the Cancer Research Events Calendar.
My recent challenge was on August 22nd-25th 2008 , i cycled nearly 200 miles from London To Paris for Breast Cancer.
All my challenges have been challenging and rewarding and have helped me raise money for worthy causes .
My next challenge will not only be to trek The China Wall but i will help raise awareness of Retinitis Pigmentosa.
