Story
Hello, and welcome to my fundraising page.
To the dismay of my girlfriend, I have decided to riase funds, and challenge myself by entering the Ironman UK Triathlon - an extremely challenging 2.4 mile swim - 112 mile bike ride - 26.2 mile run.
I am racing principally for The Royal National Lifeboats Institution (RNLI). The RNLI is the charity that provides a 24-hour lifesaving service around the UK and Republic of Ireland. Their volunteer crews give up their time and comfort to carry out rescues in difficult and often dangerous conditions. Since It was founded in 1824 they have saved over 137,000 lives, and in 2006 RNLI lifeboats rescued more than 8,000 people, an average of 22 people per day.
I am well into my training program, and I'm currently averaging around 16 hours of swimming, cycling and running a week (peaking at 20 hpw!) - I think Sandra has forgotten what I look like. Among other things, I have sacrificed my beloved football, and my social life has become fairly non-existent. Please help me to raise funds for these excellent charities, and make all this pain worthwhile!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Rotary-IronmanUK Triathlon Charities will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
