Story
31/03/09: After undergoing 9 weeks of chemotherapy in late 2008, i found out after treatment last year that in January of this year i had to undergo major abodominal surgery, now my surgeon has told me this will prevent me from running this year as i will not have recovered fully in time but everything is in place for me to run in 2010. Thank you all so much for your kind and genorous donations up until now.
15/9/08: I am James Corfield i am 18 years old and on the 14th of August 2008, the same day as my A Level results, i was diagnosed with testicular cancer. This came as a huge shock and as a result has changed my life forever. My plan originally this year was to be at Worcester university undertaking the first year of my Business Studies degree and enjoying student life!!!!! I now have an unexpected gap year which i need to fill. Yes, the very near futute will be getting better and having chemotherapy, but in time i will recover and will train back to fitness and put my body to the ultimate challenge by running the London Marathon.
I have had personal experiences with Mary Stevens in the past, my nan had terminal lung cancer several years ago. She spent several very happy weeks in the hospice. The care that they gave to her and our family was exceptional and this is why i chose this charity to support in my run.
I have now committed myself to running the 2009 Flora London Marathon for Mary Stevens Hospice in Oldswinford. Now this is where you come in...
