We help orphaned and destitute children to give them a life free from poverty.
Story
Hello!!
Thanks for visiting this page to raise money for Reaching The Unreached.
It has been a long term ambition of mine to run a marathon. This year I have been lucky enough to gain an entry through my running club the Cambridge University Hare & Hounds.
My objectives: 1. Raise over £1000 pounds (£500 pounds each for RTU and MIND) 2. To raise awareness for RTU (and MIND) 3. Finish in under 3 hours
A bit about my choice of charities....... I could not decide on one charity so I thought I would give people the option of donating to two different charities. MIND being closer to home and RTU supporting orphans in India.
A bit more about RTU......I visited India for the first time last summer and had the chance to meet some incredible people striving against poverty, disease and hunger to not only survive but to live happy and fulfilling lives. I was made aware of RTU by one of my house mates who as a trustee does a lot of work for the charity. I particularly like their programs to help children who have been abandoned or orphaned, many through AIDS.
More information about there work can be found here: www.rtu.org.uk
A final plea sponsor me to run the London Marathon (my 1st marathon)....... Yes I would do a marathon anyway but this way money also gets raised for a deserving cause, and your thoughtful donations will serve as a boost to help me through the final painful miles.
RTU is a grassroots organisation, working with the poorest children and families in rural communities in South India to change their lives for good. We build decent housing, drill wells, run schools, promote rural enterprise, and care for 1,000 orphaned children in 4 Children's Villages.
