The Day..

It was a truly amazing day; from the nervous journey to Greenwich at the start, the bright & hot sunshine to the hail, the warmth and energy received from the spectators, the agony & the mental struggle to keep moving in the closing miles and the final relief to cross the line.

As I watched a recording of the race, I recognised so many of the streets, the supporters and many of the runners, even some of the drain covers, kerbs & road markings (how sad)!  Above all I felt so privileged to have been part of the event AND would recommend it to everyone!

It was a truly great experience and I was pleased to finish in a time of 3 hr 36min and 1 second.

I have chosen this charity to support close friends whose 2 year old son suffers from chronic kidney illness.  Joshua was born with just one kidney which is not functioning correctly.  He undergoes regular blood checks and receives daily medication, however, at present his kidney function is declining and if this continues he will have to have a transplant sooner that expected. Donations from this appeal will assist Kidney Research UK in their efforts to help not only young children like Joshua but many others to lead a long and healthy life.
